5 States, 2 Adults, 2 Dogs in One Van

Our recent two-week adventure was everything we had hoped and had planned for—a perfect blend of awe inspiring landscapes, family, and unforgettable wildlife. Starting from our home in Bend, Oregon, we set off on a 2,300-mile loop that took us to Yellowstone and Grand Teton National Parks, with stops to visit family in Idaho and Utah.
Traveling in a cozy rented camper van, including our two furry friends Coho and Boots, made the experience even more fun, intimate, and interesting. Our first stop was in Idaho to stay with family and as our launchpad for heading to the National Parks From there, we headed to Yellowstone, where we camped at Madison Campground and explored the park's vast geothermal wonders. The highlight for Stefanie was her very first sighting of a large wild bison—a moment captured on video that we'll both remember forever. We also encountered bears, wolves, elk, and antelope, offering many opportunities photos. Even though Coho and Boots couldn't join us on the trails due to park rules, they were content with the new sights and smells from the roadside and camps.
In Grand Teton National Park, we embraced primitive camping, surrounded by nature including bears and an epic vantage point of the Tetons and fall leaves. The spectacular views of the Tetons at sunrise and sunset were amazing. After soaking in the primitive camping, we headed to Jackson, Wyoming, before returning through Idaho and Utah for more time with family.
Every part of this adventure, from soaking in Yellowstone hot springs near Gardiner Montana to camping under the stars, left us with amazing memories.
This trip has inspired us, and we hope it inspires you too, to hit the open road and discover the beauty and joy that await. Whether it's the thrill of seeing wildlife or the beautiful coffee spot of a mountainside sunrise, there's an adventure out there for everyone.
