Some breaking news on the expanded alliance between Autodesk and Esri.
Esri and Autodesk have formed a strategic alliance to integrate Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and Building Information Modeling (BIM).
The architect exclaimed, ‘You got your GIS in my BIM!’
And the GIS user replied, ‘Well, you got your BIM in my GIS!’
And that’s how they realized that together, they make a perfect collaboration for project design and delivery.
The partnership has resulted in the ArcGIS GeoBIM platform, which connects geospatial data with design and construction information. as well as allowing ArcGIS Basemaps in Autodesk products.
This integration enhances collaboration, improves decision-making, and streamlines project delivery and asset operations. The alliance is also developing digital twins, combining spatial intelligence with BIM to create virtual representations of natural and built environments.
