I have been deep dive researching in AEC and Manufacturing design software and the greater industry trends. Here is my overview of manufacturing design software trends. There are several trends in mechanical design software technologies that are shaping the future of engineering and product design.
Some of these trends in no particular order of significance include:

This trend is gaining popularity as it allows engineers to explore a wide range of design possibilities and optimize designs based on specific criteria such as weight, materials, or cost to manufacture.
Simulation and analysis: Simulation and analysis software are becoming more sophisticated, allowing engineers to simulate and analyze the behavior of designs in real-world conditions. This trend is important for product design as it allows engineers to identify potential issues early in the design process and make adjustments accordingly.

It may get really interesting when we get OpenAI ChatGPTor image and/or model generation built into some software design technologies.
