Our Portland Autodesk office took the Autodesk tagline of “Make Anything” quite literal. We moved into this beautifully restored downtown central eastside Portland office a year ago. So when some of the employees heard we had a game room, they asked about an arcade game. There wasn’t an arcade game or budget – so they decided to make one.
It was an organic grassroots volunteer project, but a group of employees decided “hey, lets make our own arcade console.” They used Autodesk products including generative design for the design, 3D printed some parts, programmed an Arduino, installed some LED lights, painted, and then using one employees home shop, they built an amazing arcade game that many employees and visitors love to play in the office. It is a remarkable story of create employees taking the “Make Anything” quite literally and made an arcade. This opportunity also gave a great opportunity for our employees to use our products to design and make this arcade using several including Inventor, Fusion 360, generative design, AutoCAD, and more.
