Tap Handle Competition and I Want You To Help
16 April 2019
In our Autodesk Portland office we are all nearing our 1 year in this beautiful historic and renovated building, and have a internal design contest. Employees are encouraged to design and 3D printed tap handles for our beer taps in the office game room named after the Portland neighborhood of Slabtown. The Slabtown game room is used for events like user groups, receptions, training, and more. I know our customers and my readers are the most skilled and talented designers in the world, and so I wanted to include you in this fun since it wasn't prohibited by the rules and would be fun collaborating. The winning tap of the contest will be 3D printed and then installed in the Autodesk office as a working beer tap. If we win, think of it as a monument to our combined creative work and I will pour you a beverage and give you a tour of the Portland office, buy you dinner at Autodesk University or toast your efforts in grand fashion from afar with a room full of grateful Autodesk Portland employees.
Here is what Slabtown game room looks like, and the current beer taps:
There is even the employee designed and made arcade in this Slabtown game room. We take the company line of “Make Anything” very literal in Portland.

Good, lets do this! email me to begin!
I was thinking something definitely Autodesk, generative design, Portland, or the Towne Storage Building. Maybe the iconic water storage tower on our building would make a good tap handle. What do you think?
Let’s collaborate on something amazing!
