FIRST Robotics FRC Team 1540 the Flaming Chickens placed 1st ranking again this weekend in Oregon City, but lost out in the quarter final alliance competition match. They are heading to the Pacific Northwest FIRST District Championship in Tacoma Washington April 3-6 and then hopefully onto the FIRST FRC World Finals in Houston Texas. What a great and inspiring event where local Portland startups presented on their products with passion and energy. It was also nice to see such an inclusive and diverse event with most of the presenters being women founders and Latina and people of color represented. It is a great sign to see in the construction industry. I seen this inclusive sign yesterday during a visit to Factory_OS in Vallejo California. "Men and Women at Work" . when I posted this photo to Twitter @shaanHurley I got some replies saying it should have been now People at Work.
