AU 2018 Day 4 November 15th, 2018
On day 4 of Autodesk University 2018, even the dogs were sad it was coming to an end.
My final day at AU started off with some great presentations in the AU Theater around stories.
In addition to the great presentations, I loved that Darren Brooker used photos of our team with the lunar rover we built out at Burning Man.
The Expo Hall was a buzz with discussions and many interesting solutions.
I seen the motorcycle frame designed to be stronger yet lighter using generative design, the Fusion 360 splash image artifact made in real-life, and an amazing Autodesk solution that allows you to visualize data and airflow over an Indy car using a mobile tablet.
Also in the Expo Hall, attendees could sign up to build their own portable air quality sensor.
The sensors change color f light depending on the air quality. The unit was designed using Autodesk’s Fusion 360 and then manufactured and assembled by attendees and then they got to take them home. I will post a longer blog post on this excellent Au project activity.
Oasis anyone or the Matrix?
Actually a fun VR experience by HP using VR content created in Autodesk products by students in a contest on imagining a future human outpost on Mars. It was a lot of fun to see both in the pods as well as seeing attendees in the pods. I joked with some it was really just downloading your feedback on our Autodesk products as it was easier to get your feedback that way.
More Expo Hall photos.
We got to visit with Portland based startup The Wild and see a demo of their innovative collaboration technology. Thanks Gabe!
The Answer Bar was filled and many getting great solutions and ideas to take back to their offices.
Ahhh the dogs, yes the dogs. This is the second ear we had a local non profit bring in their rescue and therapy dogs for attendees to pet and relax. It is amazing how petting a sweet pup can center you and make you breathe and the hectic world outside disappears.

That's it, AU is over and all that remains is the new friendships, memories, and the knowledge gained. See you next year same place, the Venetian!
Thank you everyone that made this AU an amazing one!
