Autodesk Labs has been a long passion of mine here at Autodesk since starting it in 2006. Scott Sheppard has made Autodesk Labs the polished success it has grown into over the years launching many of Autodesk products you know and love today. Engineering.com wrote a nice online article highlighting some of the past technology previews that have come out of Autodesk Labs such as Autodesk Fusion 360. Autodesk Labs is not just about free early access to technology to play with, but exits to engage people to test and provide feedback to assist Autodesk to decide the future of the technology.

Flashback to Autodesk Labs 2006!
Autodesk Labs will turn 10 in a couple months but here is a peek back at its humble start using the Internet Wayback machine where you can view cached web pages from back in time. You can see the first 3 projects hosted on Autodesk Labs was the DGN Export for AutoCAD, Google Earth Extension Beta, and online DWF file viewer Project Freewheel. The mascot for Autodesk Labs was my golden lab named Wyatt.
