Autodesk Feedback Community Has Been Upgraded
10 July 2014
Last night we migrated the Autodesk Feedback Community which hosts the Autodesk Beta and Autodesk Labs communities. It took a couple hours and some hard work and sweat but we migrated over 700,000 files to a new version of our platform and onto a new set of beefy server hardware.
Avatars
When you first login if you look in the upper right you will see the option to upload an avatar image (if you don't see it refresh your browser cache.) When you chose to upload your avatar after the migration we ask you use a photo of your face. Years back the beta community had avatars and users liked them as they could recognize and place a name to a face when they met at events like Autodesk University or local user groups.
Check out the mobile client!
You simply log onto https://beta.autodesk.com and you get the Autodesk Beta or Autodesk Labs community.
Flush Browser Cache to Resolve Issues
Everything appears to be running fine, but if you see something odd just refresh your browser cache to force your browser to get the current page from the server. CTRL+Refresh for Chrome browser for example.
Update Your Profiles
Now is the perfect time to update your user profile on what products and projects you would like to be involved in and your hardware profile so that you will be recruited for projects you want to be involved in. If you still list that you are running Windows 98 you are most likely not going to get an invite nor if you list your name as MickeyMouse from Transylvania. Teams will recruit looking for certain product users with sometimes specific profiles to make sure we get full coverage and testing for a beta and sketchy incomplete profiles get removed.
Future Evolution
We will begin to enable new features in the near future now that we have migrated to the new platform version and hardware. We will let you know when we do enable something and how to use those new features. We enabled only some new features to limit confusion as we wanted evolution, not revolution.
