In Istanbul Turkey
16 October 2008
I was greeted at the airport after 16 hours of travel by Erhan, Orhan, and John of the Daily AutoCAD blog, we went to a traditional Turkish restaurant then I went to my hotel. My hotel is located in old town Istanbul and is a small but local Turkish hotel with style but not a big price tag. My room must have about 200 lamps hanging on the ceiling.
I walked around the old town and visited the Blue Mosque and was startled when the loud speakers began the call to prayer as I had never heard anything like that before and it was echoing around the city. It was a surreal evening.
Now it is 7AM and I am preparing for my presentation at a local University. It should be an exciting day and tomorrow I am headed to Southern Turley for the weekend in Cappadocia. Next week I will be in Istanbul one more day then I head for Kuwait and the Kuwait FOCUS users group.
Cheers,
Shaan
