Off To Costa Rica for 2 Weeks "Pura Vida"
01 February 2007
I leave in a few hours headed for the beautiful Central American country of Costa Rica for some hiking, photography, and have some warm weather instead of the snow and winter. I will be there until the 14th of February. I am traveling with a good friend of mine from Germany and we will be seeing the country by driving and hiking rather than tours and this allows us to see and do more. In fact we will be seeing Costa Rica from the Pacific to the Caribbean and from the North at the Nicaraguan border to the South on the Panamanian border.
Some places we will be:
• Puntarenas (Pacific)
• North of San Ramon (Cloud Forest)
• Cocles Beach Puerto Veijo (Caribbean)
I expect to see quite a bit of Costa Rica using our hotel as a possible sleeping spot and hiking, driving, swimming and such during the day. I highlighted our planned travels provided we don’t end up stuck in washed out or jungle critter trails. I hear over 20% of our travels will be by dirt or mud roads at best with several river crossings with no bridges and crocodiles. Although some of the roads I will be taking on my travels will be bad, they luckily are not listed on the top 5 dangerous roads of the world.
I love the tropics and the wildlife as well as doing things off the beaten tourist paths. I will try to post photos and updates of my travels when I can, but I am unsure about my cell connection and Internet access.
I guess I better start packing as my flight is only a few hours away...
