Now Traveling to The Amazon!
Saturday from the Jungle

What a Day in the Amazon

My day started with a crazy cab ride to the Sao Paulo Airport for my four hour flight to Manaus Brazil. I arrived in Manaus at 1:30PM local time. By 2:00 PM I was on a boat with my Guide Antonio headed up the Rio Negro River. I barely had enough time once at the camp to brush my teeth and then it was off for some monkey spotting. After awhile of playing and feeding the monkeys and a nice rain shower it was time for dinner. I caught a beetle that was Large enough for a meal but I released it and ate some great food. To top off my first day in the Amazon jungle we went out and caught a caiman which is like an alligator. The noise of the Jungle at night is amazing with frogs, parrots, and monkeys all making noise as loud as they can.
I posted some photos in my Brazil 2004 Gallery.
Tomorrow I will be trekking into an Indian village which is about a two and a half hour hike.

The only bad news, is that I found out my 2 year old daughter is really sick and had to be admitted tonight to the hospital. I will call again in the morning and see how she is doing and if I need to head home early.

Ciao
