Intel's new 64-32 architecture compatible with AMD's

Information out on the web indicates the new upcoming Intel 32-64 bit chips expected in June will be compatible with the AMD 64. I sure hope this means only one version of the OS and not the current 2 versions of Windows XP 64 bit Edition.
